Summary: The Escrow Officer is responsible for the sale of title insurance and escrow closing services. The position is focused on developing new business as well as maintaining the existing client base. This position provides customer service and has administrative duties relating to escrow closings. The position is highly results driven.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage entire real estate closing process, including compliance with real estate contracts, lending instructions, title requirements, company requirements and other instructions.
Thoroughly understands the escrow process to determine what steps need to be taken to transfer the title of property pursuant to the real estate contract and lender instructions.
Collaborates with title department to resolve issues.
Prepares all closing documents necessary to ensure title insurance is issued at closing.
Secures all documents that may be required for the issuance of title insurance.
Conducts closing with customer, realtor, lenders and other appropriate parties.
Assists customers and clients with closing related questions. Acts as an intermediary between different parties.
Prior to disbursement, confirm all funds are collected, all appropriate documents are checked for accuracy, signatures are in order and acknowledgements and legal descriptions are accurate.
Verify all legal documents for correctness.
Manage relationships throughout the process to ensure future business.
Provides high level of customer service
Schedule closing and maintain closing calendar for Fee Attorney.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Team player. May need to assist other Staff to maintain an even work flow.
Communicate with Supervisor and co-workers on work load.
Constant communication with Fee Attorney.
Ability to multitask.
Identify areas for improvement.
Other duties as assigned by Fee Attorney.
Must keep closing information confidential.
2 plus years of escrow assistant experience or 3 years of work in a related real estate field.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
College degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
Able to follow all company procedures and policies including meeting the company customer service expectations.
Knowledge of title insurance, regulatory guidelines, legal documents, and real property law a plus.
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong customer service
Proficient with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
Proficient with Internet navigation
Attention to detail
Able to multi-task
