Orange Coast Title seeks a dependable and professional Commercial Escrow Officer with at least seven (7) years of experience. The successful candidate will understand escrow standards, title clearance, real estate regulations and guidelines, and document preparation. S/he must be a Notary or be bondable. This position performs advanced duties related to all facets of escrow processing. Therefore, our escrow officer must have excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills in order to exercise independent judgments during the escrow process. This individual must be customer-focused and will be responsible for establishing new escrow accounts to grow a book of business. S/he is expected to be a respectful team player while working with the members of the escrow unit and the various other departments.
- Understand and close complex commercial transactions involving multiple parties and deal terms.
- Determine escrow requirements by analyzing purchase agreements and clarifying buyer, seller and lender instructions.
-Prepare all escrow related documents required for the transaction.
-Prepare closing statements and calculate figures including proration’s, taxes, interest, payoffs, commissions, etc. Balance the file and disburse funds.
-Review transaction documents for completeness and accuracy, assemble document packages, obtain signatures, be able explain all document provisions and answer questions thoroughly.
-Close and document files in compliance with company policies and procedures.
-Continue to pursue professional growth by participating in educational opportunities, professional organizations and networking events.
-Must possess excellent organizational skills, oral and written communication skills and be able to work under pressure to meet specific time deadlines.
